গুলজার

জন্ম ১৯৩৪

হিন্দি ও উর্দু সাহিত্যের একজন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভারতীয় কবি গুলজার(১৯৩৪)। তিনি পাঞ্জাবি, ব্রজ প্রভৃতি ভাষাতেও কবিতা রচনা করেছেন। গুলজার কবিতা লেখেন উর্দু ও হিন্দিতে। তাঁর প্রধান কাব্যগুলির মধ্যে আছে : ‘চাঁদ পোখরাজ কা ‘, ‘রাত পসমিনে কি ‘, ‘পন্দের পাঁচ পঁচাত্তর’ প্রভৃতি। হিন্দিতে লেখা তাঁর অভিনব শিল্প আঙ্গিকের কবিতা ‘ ত্রিবেণী’। হিন্দি বিশেষত উর্দু কবি হিসাবে গুলজারের জনপ্রিয়তাও প্রবল। কবিতাগুলি যেন জীবনের গভীর স্তব। তিনি তাঁর সৎ অনুভূতিগুলিকে চিত্রকল্পে সাজিয়ে প্রকাশ করেছেন। তাঁর কবিতার ভিতর তীক্ষ্ণ থাকে শ্লেষ। সরল কবিতার মধ্যে লুকিয়ে রাখেন জীবনের গভীর স্তর। সেই রকম তিনটি হিন্দি ও উর্দু কবিতার অনুবাদ এখানে রইল।

বইগুলি উঁকি মারছে

বইগুলি উঁকি মারছে বন্ধ আলমারির কাঁচের ভিতর দিয়ে
কত শূন্য চোখ নিয়েই না তাকিয়ে আছে!
কতদিনই না দেখা হয় না।
যে সন্ধ্যাগুলি ওর সঙ্গে বসে কেটে যেত
সেই সন্ধ্যাগুলি এখন প্রায়শই কেটে যায় কম্পিউটারের পর্দায় চোখ রেখে।

বইগুলি খুবই চঞ্চল হয়ে থাকে
ঘুমের ঘোরে হেঁটে যাওয়া ওর এখন অভ্যাস হয়ে গেছে
আল্লাহর গুণের যে সব কথা ও শোনাতো যার কোষ কোনোদিন মরে না
যে সম্পর্কের কথা ও শোনাতো আজ সব ছিঁড়ে ছিঁড়ে গেছে।

কোনো পাতা ওলটালে চোখ বেয়ে নেমে আসে জল
কোথাও শব্দের অর্থ ঝরে পড়ে যাা
তখন শব্দগুলিকে পাতা ছাড়া শুকনো কুঁড়ির মতো মনে হয়
যেখানে কোনো অর্থই আর অঙ্কুরিত হয়ে ওঠে না।

পাতা ওলটাতে গিয়ে জিভে যে জল চলে আসতো
এখন আঙুলের চাপ দিলেই দ্রুত পাতা সরে যায়
অনেক কিছু তৈরি হয়, খুলে যায়, চলে যায় পর্দায়
বই-এর সঙ্গে যে নিকট সম্পর্ক ছিলো তাও চুকেবুকে গেছে
কখনো বুকের ওপর রেখে শুয়ে পড়া,
কখনো কোলে তুলে নেওয়া
কখনো দুই হাঁটুকে বুকস্ট্যান্ড বানিয়ে
প্রার্থনার ভঙ্গিতে পড়তে থাকা, ছুঁয়ে থাকতাম যখন
সেইসব দুঃখতো পাওয়া আছে যদিও
কিন্তু ঐ যে বই-এর মধ্যে লেপটে থাকা শুকনো ফুল পাওয়া যেত
আর সুগন্ধী মাখানো চিরকূট!

বই চেয়ে নেওয়া, হাত থেকে পড়ে গেলে তুলে
দেওয়ার অছিলায় যে সম্পর্ক তৈরি হতো
তার কী হবে?

ও বুঝি আর হবে না!!

আমি নীচে গিয়ে থাকি

আমি নীচে গিয়েই থাকি চলো
মাটির কাছাকাছি থাকতে দাও আমাকে
ঘর থেকে সহজেই বের করে নিয়ে যেতে সুবিধে হবে।

খুব জ্বালাতন করে এই সিঁড়িগুলি আর এগারো তলার বাড়ি
জল অনেক কষ্টে পাঁচতলা পর্যন্ত আসে।
তোমরা আমাকে লিফটে চ্যাংদোলা করে নীচে আনবে
এটা ভেবে খুব খারাপ লাগে!

আমি নীচে গিয়েই থাকি
কিছুতেই সিঁড়ি দিয়ে ভাঁজ করে আমাকে নামাবে না,
ঐ যে ক্রিশ্চান পাদরি যে সাততলায় থাকে
ঘৃণার চোখে সে আমাকে দেখে বলবে : ‘ গো টু হেল’
ও সারাজীবন ধরে এটাই বলে এসেছে
এখানে কিছু লোক আছে এমন
আমি ওদের সামনে যাওয়া থেকে বেঁচে গেলেই ভালো।

আর ঐ যে মিশ্র মাস্টার , যার হাঁপানি আছে, খুক খুক করে কেশে
ও তো পা দিয়ে দরজাটা ঠেলে দেবে
কোনো একটা শ্লোকও আউরে দেবে।
পিপল গাছের নীচে বসে যখন তুরুপ আর সাত তাসের খেলা করতো
তাস নিয়ে চোট্টামিও করতো খুব
কিন্তু ওর বৌ বেলা খুব সুন্দরী ছিল
মিশ্র এখন একা
অনেক বুঝিয়েছি, খেলা শেষ হয়ে গেলে তাস আবার বাঁটতে হয়।

আমাকে পিপল গাছের নীচে নামিয়ে রেখো না
পাখিরা ‘অ্যা’ করে দিয়ে চলে যাবে
বেঁচে থাকতে যা খুশি হোক
মৃত্যুর সময় যেন পবিত্র থাকি!

আমি নীচে গিয়ে থাকি
আমার জন্য গ্যারেজটা পরিস্কার করে দাও
অচল গাড়িটাকে বাইরে দাঁড় করিয়ে রাখো
ওকে তবু কেউ তুলে নিয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু
আমাকে! আমাকে কোনো কাবারিও নিয়ে যাবে না

চলো…
আমি নীচে গিয়েই থাকি

চলো কিছু পুরনো বন্ধুর দরজায় কড়া নেড়ে আসি

চলো কিছু পুরনো বন্ধুর দরজায় কড়া নেড়ে আসি

দেখি ওর পাখায় ক্লান্তির কোনো ছাপ পড়েছে কিনা
না এখনো সে উৎফুল্ল ডানা ঝাপটায়।

সোল্লাসে হা হা করে হেসে ওঠে সেই আগের মতো
না ঠোঁট চেপে প্রছন্ন হাসি বের করে ইদানিং।

ওকি সব গোপন খবর উজার করে দেয়
না কেবল সাফল্যের সিঁড়িতে ওঠার গল্প শোনায়।

আমাদের বদলে যাওয়া চেহারা দেখে
আপন ভেবে নিয়ে হাসতেই থাকে।

না বার বার ঘড়িতে চোখ রেখে অস্বস্তিতে
আমাদের চলে যাবার মুহূর্ত তৈরি করে।

চলো কিছু পুরনো বন্ধুর দরজায়
কড়া নেড়ে আসি।
