ইউরোপের সার্বিয়া জেলায় জন্ম ডানিজেলার। তবে তাঁর আদ্যপ্রান্ত বেড়ে ওঠা অস্ট্রেলিয়ার পশ্চিম ভাগে অবস্থিত শহর পার্থে। পেশায় প্রফেসর ডানিজেলা বর্তমানে ওয়েস্টার্ন অস্ট্রেলিয়ান ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে আবেগের সাহিত্য নিয়ে গবেষণারত। তাঁর বহু কবিতা বিভিন্ন পত্রপত্রিকায় চর্চিত এবং ভূষিত।

কালেভালায় প্রত্যাবর্তন

ভ্রমণের ক্লান্তি গায়ে মেখে
শুয়ে থাকব আমি।

ধীরে ধীরে বড় করব আমার চুলের আলগা গোছা
নদীতীরে যখন হাওয়ার সন্নিবেশ!

একটা রূপোলি হ্রদ
বইবে আমার অন্তস্তল দিয়ে—
পরীদের ভাষায়
কান্নারা জমা পরবে নিভৃত গভীরে।

সময়পক্ষীর বসতবাটী আমার হাঁটুতে
তার গরম লোহার ডিম বিকশিত জানুসন্ধিদ্বয়ে।
সামান্য ঝাঁকুনি দিতে হবে শুধু আমায়—
তাতেই পাতলা খোলস ভেঙে
বেড়ে উঠবে আরও এক বিশ্ব
নবমহিমায়!

শরীর খুব তাড়াতাড়ি পেরিয়ে যায় পথ-
চরিত্রেরা শুধু পিছিয়ে পড়ে ঘুরতে থাকে
পিছনে ফেলে আসা সব রাস্তায় তবুও অনর্গল!
তাড়াতাড়ি করে পা চালায় তারা,
খোঁজ করে বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া দোকানের।
কখনও বা তারা কথা বলে সতর্কভাবে,
পরামর্শ চায় চিৎকার করে
অশ্রুত কোনো ভাষায়।
কি করা উচিত-
মনের মধ্যে জমা হওয়া এই গল্পগুলোকে কি জোর করে বের করে দেওয়া ঠিক,
নাকি শরীরকেই অদৃশ্য করে বসিয়ে রাখা উচিত
পাল্টানো সব দৃশ্যপটের পরিবর্তিত রূপরেখায়?
কল্পনা যেখানে চলতে থাকবে নিজস্ব গতিচক্রে
এক একটা ভাষা ঘুরতে থাকবে এক একটা কালের অভ্যন্তরীণ বলয়ে!

বাইরের দিকে স্থির দৃষ্টি মেলে
জানালার পাশ দিয়ে উল্টো দিকে হেঁটে চলা সবুজের সঙ্গে চেনা গাছেদের তুলনা টানে মন;
চেনা ছকের সঙ্গে মিলিয়ে দেখতে চায়
পার্শ্ববর্তী ভুচিত্রের গঠন-
আশপাশের লোকজনের থেকে চেয়ে নেয় নতুন পানীয় পুরোনো তৃষ্ণা মেটাতে,
অদৃশ্য সরলরেখা বরাবর মেপে নিতে থাকে
নিজেদের সঙ্গে নিজেদের
আর আশ্রয়ের সাথে আশ্রয়ের
আনুমানিক দূরত্বের।
